This past week, my girlfriend and I were looking for a nice flotation device for our nearly one year old baby girl. We weren't expecting to find the world's best baby floatie at the Dollar General, but we were hoping for something that we felt our daughter could be safe from the sun, and have a good time at the pool.
And this is where the "H2O Go!" comes into the scene. It looked pretty nice from looking at the box. Like I said, we weren't looking for something amazing, just something that she could sit in, while her mother and played with her in the water. This thing looked like it had just what we needed: a nice, inflatable seat for our Hopeykins to float in, and a decent cover to protect her in the sun. Boy were we wrong.
Let me say that, even though we only spent $8 on this, when you have seven kids, $8 can be quite a bit. Still, it seemed like a good buy. At least, until we got this thing to the pool. It comes in two inflatable pieces, which are very easy to blow up. The base piece, which the baby sits in, with her legs in the water, has nothing in the back that the baby can rest upon, and there is a lot of wasted space back there. I'm not sure why this thing needed so much space back there, but I guess that wasn't something we took into account when we were buying this thing. What we were taking into account was the cover. Let me tell you something, do not buy this based on that cover. there is nothing that really attaches the cover to the base. Just a hole on either side that you stick two round peg like things through. That's it. And they don't even fit tightly. It is a very loose fit, meaning that this cover will not stay up without someone holding it at all times. After a short amount of time, any arm would be tired of holding this thing. It is inconvenient, bulky, and a major waste of $8.
In summation, save yourself some money, and frustration, and do not buy this product. There are much better flotation devices out there, that may cost a bit more, but will at least be functional for what the product promises.
